Actress Olivia Munn and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers ended their three-year relationship back in 2017.
Amid recent reports that Munn played a role in Rodgers’ estrangement from his family, Munn addressed the Rodgers family drama in an interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM. According to Munn, Rodgers had already been estranged from his family for eight months by the time they started dating.
She provided more details about the rocky Rodgers family dynamic.
Munn said:
“I met one brother. The one that was on The Bachelorette. I was friendly with Jordan. I met the parents only a couple times. Before he and I started dating he hadn’t spoken to the parents and one brother for like eight months before we started dating. And actually I remember my last day on The Newsroom — when I was on The Newsroom. I spent the day in my trailer just encouraging him to have an honest conversation with your parents, and we just kind of did bullet points. And then they had a really nice conversation, and then, they started coming out my first year when I was in Green Bay in 2014, and then it just … (‘went south,’ Cohen interjected). I just think it’s really important to try to mend things in a family. And I encourage that. But at the end of the day, I do believe that family and fame and success can be really complicated if their dreams are connected to your success.”
She continued to say of Rodgers’ family:
“I don’t think either side of the road is clean, but I do think it’s not OK when you try to stand on someone’s shoulders and then throw dirt in their face, which is what I think they did with him.”
Last year, Rodgers told People.com that fame put a strain on his relationship with Munn.
“When you are living out a relationship in the public eye, it’s definitely … it’s difficult. It has some extra constraints, because you have other opinions about your relationship, how it affects your work and, you know, just some inappropriate connections.”
He’s currently in a relationship with Danica Patrick.
